Direct answer

Find out how the exact device makes and delivers its cold before anything else. A refrigerated electric cold-air unit has a completely different supply and service plan from a nitrogen or CO2 spray device. "Cold air" describes the delivery, not the cooling source. Once the source is clear, check the applicators, how the operator moves, limits on back-to-back use and local support - then compare prices.

Cooling-source comparison

Cooling-source comparison
Cooling path Main operating question Site question Cost input
Electric cold air Can the unit sustain the intended session pattern? Circuit, heat, clearance and room conditions Electricity and service
Liquid nitrogen How much gas does the exact workflow consume? Delivery, tank, ventilation, monitoring and storage Delivered gas, tank and delivery fees
CO2 Which cylinder and connection does the model require? Delivery, restraint, storage, ventilation and local requirements Gas and cylinder costs

A fan, an ice-circulation rehabilitation unit and a whole-body chamber are not localized cryotherapy devices just because a listing says "cold therapy". If a model's cooling source is unclear, leave it unclassified until the supplier sends the current technical document.

Check the product format before shortlisting

The product name doesn't tell you whether a device is localized. MECOTEC's current cryoair flex publication, checked October 6, 2026, describes a modular two-person electric chamber, so it belongs with chamber research, not here. When requesting documents, keep handpiece systems, full enclosures and their service arrangements apart.

Public-price comparison rule

Localized devices don't fall into one price bracket. The cooling source, applicators, tank or cylinder hardware, training and destination package all move the number. Dealer category pages help you find products, but an unnamed price range won't budget the system you actually need.

A usable public price names the product, seller, date, configuration and what's included. One named reference: the CRYONiQ US catalog, checked October 6, 2026, lists the LC localized device from USD 12,750. That isn't a whole-body chamber price or a complete facial-workflow quote. Check the current technical sheet, intended use, included applicators, tank arrangement and local supply before comparing it with another model.

A quote-only model isn't automatically a worse buy than one with a public price. Compare devices against the same operating requirements, keep financing separate from the cash price, and don't let a monthly payment, optional attachment or announced future model stand in for the current package. For the final number, get a dated, itemized quote.

Questions for the demonstration

Ask the supplier to run the full setup, session and shutdown sequence in front of you. Watch how the operator moves around the client, handles the hose, changes tanks, cleans and recovers from an error. Then ask for written limits on back-to-back use and the current preventive-maintenance schedule.

Claim boundary

This guide is about choosing equipment. Clinical uses, outcomes and contraindications need a separate qualified review and play no part in how devices are compared here.
