Direct answer
Split the market by cooling method and chamber format first. Electric enclosed chambers take liquid-nitrogen purchasing and storage out of daily operations, but they can need substantial electrical capacity, refrigeration planning or an outdoor condenser. Nitrogen cryosaunas often start lower in published price examples, and in exchange bring gas deliveries, storage, ventilation, oxygen monitoring and per-session consumption.
Which models make your shortlist depends on the site, the session pattern, staffing and local support - things a headline temperature or monthly payment can't tell you.

| MECOTEC cryo:one+ | Electric, enclosed | 2 | Quote required | Quote required | 460 V, three phase, 60 Hz, 32 A for the captured US configuration | Current price, exact footprint and warranty term |
| CRYO Science Arctic Performance | Nitrogen, enclosed | 1 | Quote required | Unknown | Unknown | Current technical sheet, site requirements and warranty |
| CRYO Science Glacier Performance | Electric, enclosed | 1 | Quote required | Unknown | 30 kW rated; 400 V, three phase, 50-60 Hz; US booster stated | Installed configuration, outdoor module, measured kWh and warranty |
The price and connection details for Vortex, Everest, CRYONiQ XC Plus, MECOTEC cryo:one+ and Glacier were checked October 6, 2026. The MECOTEC US model page confirms two-person capacity. Everest publishes calculator price references and CRYONiQ publishes starting prices. Glacier publishes rated power, not measured energy use. Ethos keeps its October 1 check, and other unchanged fields keep their recorded basis.

Electric versus nitrogen
Choose the electric path when
- The business wants to remove liquid-nitrogen delivery and refill handling from routine operations.
- The site can support the required electrical service and any condenser arrangement.
- Expected utilization makes predictable electrical operation more valuable than a lower purchase entry point.
- Local service exists for the refrigeration configuration.
Keep nitrogen systems in the comparison when
- The location has a reliable commercial nitrogen supplier and acceptable delivered pricing.
- Gas storage, monitoring and ventilation requirements can be satisfied.
- The lower capital path matters more than recurring gas logistics.
- The operator model and local rules support the chosen chamber format.
Use these lists to screen, not to pick a winner. The electric versus nitrogen comparison sets both on the same workload.
Enclosed versus head-out format
"Whole-body", "full-body" and "cryosauna" are used loosely, and they don't tell you how the cold is produced. An electric chamber can be head-out - the Antarctica Electric product page, checked October 6, 2026, is one example - and nitrogen heat-exchange equipment can be fully enclosed.
For each candidate, ask the supplier which parts of the body are in the cold environment, what the user breathes, how the session is monitored and which operator controls are required. Take the answers from the current manual, then record the cooling source and utilities as separate fields. The format example above is not an extra recommendation; it simply keeps the shortlist fields accurate.
Build the shortlist in four passes
1. Reject models that do not fit the site
Check delivery dimensions, operating footprint, working clearance, floor, electrical service, condenser location, heat and humidity limits, ventilation, gas storage and permits.
2. Reject models that do not fit the session flow
Ask for documented precooling, recovery time between sessions, realistic staffing, cleaning steps and any limit on back-to-back use. Theoretical daily capacity is not a revenue assumption.
3. Compare support as a cost field
Record warranty term, covered parts, labor, travel, remote diagnostics, preventive maintenance, where spare parts are held, service response and exclusions. A long compressor warranty can sit alongside other service items you still pay for.
4. Compare the written commercial package
Separate cash price, financing example, freight, rigging, installation, commissioning, training, tax, software and service. Anything missing is marked unknown.
Evidence-scored shortlist
Before judging a product, check how much of it is actually documented.
| Field | Confirmed in current official source | Confirmed in written quote | Missing or conflicting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exact model and configuration | |||
| Cash price | |||
| Delivery and rigging | |||
| Electrical requirement | |||
| Ventilation or gas controls | |||
| Footprint and working clearance | |||
| Commissioning and training | |||
| Warranty parts labor and travel | |||
| Service response in buyer location | |||
| Recurring supplies and scheduled service |
A model with more marketing detail can look stronger while leaving key contract fields blank. Score product fit and evidence completeness separately.
What does capacity actually count?
A published capacity figure might count people inside one cycle, completed cycles, sessions sold or a theoretical daily maximum. Find out which. A two-person chamber doesn't guarantee two paid sessions per cycle. Before turning throughput into revenue, ask for a demonstration schedule that includes onboarding, cleaning, reset and staffing.
Temperature needs a definition too: measured room air, nitrogen vapor and calculated windchill describe different conditions. Compare the same field measured the same way, then check it against the exact manual and controls. The electric category shows examples of suppliers using different temperature labels.
Sources and limitations
The model table relies on official manufacturer pages, with the check dates given above. These are commercial sources, not independent performance tests. The Global Wellness Institute provider guide supplies general planning questions for commercial whole-body installations. US FDA consumer guidance is a reference for US health claims, not an international market authorization. Local engineers, authorities and the current configuration manual decide the final site question.
